General News
· Don’t forget the change of venue and dates for our upcoming monthly meetings. Please look at the Diary Dates page at the end of the newsletter for the changes. It is very important that all members note these changes. Basically we will be meeting in the GREVILLIA ROOM and on the THIRD WEDNESDAY OF THE MONTH
· Christmas in July was a great success and we hope you all had a great time. Thank you all for coming to share our celebrations and we would all be very grateful if that many people would attend our monthly meetings as we would like to expand the club but need much more participation from all members. Please come and enjoy our club atmosphere. The speaker at this months meeting will be Cathy Cheong from the volunteers service in Merrylands. Please come and support our speakers.
· Seven club members will attend a train the trainer’s course in Parramatta on 21 August 2003. They are Greg Kirwin, Merv Blyth, Don Stevens, Bob Lewis, Wilf Morman, Les Anderson and Kevin Horne.
· Club students should note that in the coming we are trialling a new system with the course notes. At the beginning of each course now ALL the notes will be given out to the students at the beginning of the course. However, if the student forgets or looses his/her notes then it is up to the student to photocopy the missing notes themselves as only ONE set of notes will be given out for each course.

SENIOR MOMENTS
SENIORS ARE WORTH A FORTUNE
Because:
· They have silver in their hair
· They have gold in their teeth
· They have stones in their kidneys
· They have lead in their feet
· They have gas in their stomachs
A WEALTH OF FRIENDS
The senior lady has become a frivolous old girl because she is seeing five men these days:
· As soon as she wakes up, Will Power helps her out of
· She then goes to see John
· And then to the kitchen to meet up with Uncle Toby and Billy Tea
· Unfortunately she is bugged by Arthur Ritis all day as he moves from joint to joint
· At the end of the day she relaxes with Johnny Walker, whilst trying to fight off Al Zymer.
REFLECTIONS
· Not to mention that the local pastor called in to remind her to think about the hereafter. She told him she thought about it all the time - every time she entered a room she asks herself - “What am I here after?????”
